Billy Don Morris passed away Wednesday morning, February 8, 2023 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa. He was 75 years old. Billy will be laid to rest in the Arlington National Cemetery in Texas.Born July 24, 1947 in Cleburne, Texas, Billy was the son of C. G. and Ruby Grace (Basye) Morris. He graduated from Covington High School with the Class of 1965. Along with his siblings, played basketball for the Battlin' Blue Owls. Billy served honorably in the United States Air Force.While stationed in Tokyo, Japan, Billy's first son, Patrick was born. He would eventually pursue a long career as a sheet metal worker for the railroad. Following his retirement, Billy worked for his brother's business, Scott's Auto Sales in Tulsa. He loved purchasing cars for the business and going to the auto auctions.Billy loved going to the horse races as well, regularly visiting racetracks such as Oaklawn, Fair Meadows, Remington Park, and Louisiana Downs. A Texan at heart, Billy was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He had a dry sense of humor, however, became very personable once you got to know him. Billy remained very close to his brothers, Garner and Dale throughout his entire lifetime.Surviving family include his three children, Patrick Morris and wife, Jodi, Misti Bullard and her husband, Chris, and Brandon Morris and wife, Naomi; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Garner Scott and wife, Judy, and Dale Morris and his wife, Joyce; as well as his sister, Carol Landon and sister-in-law, Janice Morris.Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Dan Morris; his niece, Kristi Baber and nephew, Todd Scott.
