Benjamin Lemoine Scott's Obituary
Benjamin Lemoine Scott, 88, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma. Born on April 20, 1936, in Paris, Texas, Ben was the beloved son of Edward and Juanita (Hinsley) Scott.
Ben grew up in West Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Webster High School. Following high school, he served proudly in the U.S. Air Force, exemplifying dedication and patriotism.
He worked for over 25 years at American Airlines, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Outside of work, Ben had a passion for golf and spent many cherished moments on the course.
On March 27, 1989, Ben married the love of his life, Sarah Jean McCarty, and they shared a beautiful life together.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Daniel. He is survived by his children, Natalie Welch and her husband John of Claremore, Oklahoma; Jennifer Gibson of Franklin, Tennessee; and Greg Gibson and his wife Laurita of Clarksville, Tennessee, Valerie Scott Kramer and her husband, Joe, and Gloria Morrison and her husband, Roy. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Clifton Gibson, Sarah Benefield, and Grant Benefield and his wife, Allyssa, Jeremy Scott and his wife, Annette,as well as great-grandchildren Averi Benefield, Hayden Benefield, Kyeynn Benefield, Macyn Rollins, Darla Gibson, Kilian Scott, Lily Scott, Kaeli Scott, Isaiah Daniel Scott, Gary Kimmel, and Terry Kimmel.
Ben will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will be forever treasured by his loved ones.
A graveside ceremony to honor Ben's life will be held at 1 PM Friday, January 24, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Oklahoma.
