A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 1 PM-5 PM Friday and 9 AM-5 PM Monday. Bart passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 77.
Born December 26, 1942, in Boxholm, Iowa, Bart was the son of Clarence Albert and Roberta Jean (Norris) Hall. He grew up on a farm in Boxholm, where he graduated from high school in 1962. Bart loved their dairy cattle and playing with the barn cats. When the milk production was low, it was because Bart was feeding it to the kitty cats! Bart was also talented musically, playing the horn in the Boxholm School Band.
Following high school, Bart enlisted in the United States Air Force. He received training as an airplane mechanic and worked on jet engines. Eventually, he completed training at Spartan School of Aeronautics. Bart met a lot of great friends while serving in the military. He reminisced about many humorous stories and adventures throughout the years. Bart also played the drums at a local club during his time in the military.
Bart met Charlotte Norwood while she and her sister were driving to the store for a Coke. He stopped them, and they ended up visiting for hours on her parent’s front porch. A couple of days later, Bart asked Charlotte’s mother for permission to take her on a date. Bart and Charlotte married June 28, 1969, at the Sheridan Road Baptist Church in Tulsa. They spent over 50 wonderful years together.
After working at McDonnell Douglass and Lockheed-Martin in Vietnam, Bart spent most of his working life as a truck driver. He drove for Link America, Arnold Trucking, Pepsi, and for the longest time, Hale-Halsell. He had incredible GPS mapping abilities and a great sense of direction, competing at the truck driver rodeos in Oklahoma City and Atlanta. Bart was known by many to be quite the competitor in these areas.
Bart was extremely laid back and had a great sense of humor. He was also a terrific storyteller. Most were correct, except for the sizes of the fish he caught! He loved fishing, hunting with his shotgun, and, most of all, riding his tractor. Bart knew all about farm equipment and had a vast collection of John Deere memorabilia. A wonderful family man, Bart will never be forgotten by those who loved him.
Surviving family members include his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Hall; his children: Tonya Hall, Autumn Dorney, and Chris Hall; his grandson, Gavin Dorney; his sister, Bea Schultz, and husband, Don; his brother, Sonny Hall, and wife, Bonnie; his sister-in-law, Arlene Hicks and husband, Steve; and his beloved pets, Sophie and Tammy.
Bart was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Christine Hall; and his nephew, Stephen Ward.
