Barbara Louise Vanwoudenberg's Obituary
Barbara VanWoudenberg-Sazue, 66, of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.
Barbara was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and grew up in both Oklahoma and Michigan. She spent many years working as a manager at Mazzio's Pizza, where she was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature.
Barbara had a special love for animals, especially the ones others might overlook. She found joy in feeding feral cats, squirrels, and birds, and made sure they were always cared for. One special cat captured her heart, and she lovingly created a home for her on the porch, making sure she was comfortable in every season. She proudly called her hers.
Above all, Barbara was deeply devoted to her family. She was loving, selfless, and would do anything for the people she cared about. She moved to South Carolina to be with her daughter, Kerry, and grandkids, Ashleigh and Mikayla, where they built an especially close and cherished relationship filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Her great-grandson, Braxton, brought her endless joy and happiness.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kerry; her son-in-law, Kenny, whom she adored; and her grandchildren, Ashleigh, Corey, and Braxton, along with several brothers, sisters, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael VanWoudenberg; her granddaughter, Mikayla Weatherly; and her husband, Richard Sazue.
Barbara will be remembered for her big heart, her love of family, and the way she cared not only for those close to her, but for every living thing around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 6, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Tulsa Indian Community Center, 8611 South Union Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 1:00 PM at 6498 East 151st Street South, Bixby, Oklahoma.
The family invites all who knew and loved Barbara to join in celebrating her life and sharing memories.
