Carson was a true friend for the past 50 years. He was one of my teaching attending physicians when I was a resident at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital (OOH). After residency we befriended again when we were members of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Carson was the first resident of the Internal Medicine residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center (OOH). He was one of the most intelligent physicians I have ever known. His knowledge was boundless. He was also a very kind individual to me. He presented me with a book of the William Osler aphorisms shortly after I completed residency which I still have. He was also one who sent me a letter with condolences after my father died. Inside he had a very tender heart. I will forever remember his as a true friend, astute physician, devoted to his friends, master of physical diagnosis of the patient, and a master of the arts. My sincere condolences to Kay, a good friend, and the rest of the family. We have lost an true icon of the family of the osteopathic community of Tulsa.
