A service honoring and celebrating the life of Anna Marie Evans will be held 3 PM Monday, May 6 in the Rivercrest Chapel. Anna Marie passed away Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at her Jenks residence. She was 65 years old.
Today, we gather with heavy hearts to honor the life and legacy of our beloved Anna
Marie Evans. Anna's journey on this earth was one of strength, happiness, and
unwavering love. Though she has left us after a long battle with illness, her spirit will
forever illuminate our lives with the memories we shared.
Anna was born in the heart of Texas, to Joe and Carol Regalado. From her earliest days,
Anna possessed a strong will and a contagious happiness that lit up any room she
entered. Her comedic timing was impeccable, and her quick wit kept us on our toes,
always ready for the next punchline. Anna had a knack for finding humor in the most
unexpected places, turning ordinary moments into unforgettable adventures filled with
laughter and joy.
Fate led her to cross paths with her soulmate, Leigh Barry Evans, during her time at
Oakridge Elementary after her family made the move to Oklahoma. Their love story
blossomed, leading to a beautiful union at St. Catherine's Church. Together, Anna and
Leigh embarked on a journey of love and devotion that spanned 46 remarkable years.
In Jenks, Oklahoma, Anna's heart found its home. It was here that she graduated from
Jenks High School and laid down roots with Leigh. Their family grew to include three
wonderful children: Christina, Melissa Marie, and Leigh Barry Jr. Anna's love for her
family knew no bounds, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and
supporting each of them.
Anna's passion for cooking was legendary. She had a gift for turning simple ingredients
into culinary masterpieces that delighted the taste buds and warmed the soul. With two
restaurants and a partnership in a Sonic Drive-In franchise, Anna's entrepreneurial spirit
shone brightly. But it was in her own kitchen, surrounded by family and friends, that she
truly found her joy. No one could resist the irresistible aroma of Anna's tamales or the
warmth of her hospitality.
Anna's love for her family extended beyond the kitchen. She cherished every moment
spent with her loved ones, whether it was hosting festive gatherings during holidays and
birthdays or indulging in her favorite pastimes of casino, fishing, trying out new
restaurants, and Sunday movies with her husband. Her smile was radiant, her laughter
infectious, and her presence filled every room with love and light.
In addition to the beautiful memories she leaves behind, Anna Marie Evans is survived
by her devoted husband, Leigh Barry Evans; daughters Christina and Melissa; son, Leigh Barry Evans Jr.; sons-in-law, John Wilson, and Charles Brave; daughter-in-law, Brittany
Evans; and grandchildren Jordan Wilson, Harley Wilson, Tabitha Brave, Lily Evans,
Samuel Evans, C.J. Rogers, and Kade Hudson. May they find comfort in each other's
embrace and strength in the love they shared with Anna.
As we bid farewell to Anna Marie Evans, let us carry forward her legacy of love, laughter,
and unwavering strength. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will
live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Anna Marie. Your love will be cherished, your memory
revered, and your spirit celebrated for generations to come.
