Services to honor and remember the life of Andrew Tiger will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 at Haikey Chapel. Interment will follow at Duck Creek cemetery. Family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bixby Funeral Service. Andrew passed away, unexpectedly, on Monday, May 13, 2019. He was 88.Born July 23, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Andrew was the son of Porter Tiger and Irene (Markin) Tiger. He was also welcomed by a big sister, Martha. Raised and educated in the Liberty community, Andrew was a graduate of Liberty Schools. Following high school, Andrew moved out to California for a year. Upon his return, he began a career with American Airlines. During this time, he would also marry Helen Ward and the two began a family. Through the years, Andrew loved sports, especially basketball and baseball, and was very involved with his children and coaching their teams. At home, Andrew always had a huge garden. In fact, it was the envy of the neighborhood and he enjoyed the labor of love he devoted to that endeavor. Later, he enjoyed going out and dancing and many remember that he always had a dog named Tiger!Although Andrew was a man of few words, he was well-respected by those who knew him. He is survived by: his sister, Martha Davis; son, Bryan Tiger; daughter-in-law, Virginia Tiger; grandchildren: Lorie Thompson, Michelle Barclay, Angie Cothran, Jennifer Elder and Nicole Tiger. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his father, Porter Tiger; mother, Irene Campton; sons: Monte Tiger and Kevin Tiger and a daughter, Andrea Tiger.Visitation Bixby Funeral Service 13307 S.
