Services to honor and remember the life of Alma Jo Thompson will be 1 PM Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the RiverCrest Chapel, Bixby followed by a reception at Almas's home located at 750 N. Xenophon, Tulsa, OK. Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday evening from 5-7pm at the Bixby Funeral Service. Private family services will be held in the Vernon Cemetery, Coweta.Born April 22, 1935 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Day and Wyonna (Harper) Swinford, Alma spent much of her childhood in Sperry. It was at a very early age that Wyonna married Johnny Thompson. The two exchanged vows on March 8, 1950 and spent the next 56 years together until Johnny's passing. An entrepreneur by heart, Alma Jo loved going to garage sales and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed following Johnny around through the years and supporting him in his various business ventures. When not at work, Alma Jo could be found cooking in her kitchen or at the casino playing slots.Alma Jo will certainly be missed by those she leaves behind. They are: her sons: Kirby Thompson and Marshall Thompson; daughter, Shelley Godsey; brother, Steve Swinford; sister, Tina Risley; grandchildren: Mark Thompson, Tim Thompson, Adam Thompson, Michelle Standridge, Derek Thompson, Tammy Shrinkski, Danny Godsey and Leann Godsey; great-grandchildren: Mark Thompson Jr., Destiny Thompson, Trent Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Kayla Thompson, Lane Thompson, Austin Williamson, Ashlyn Buffington, Madelyn Buffington, Cooper Godsey, Maya Godsey, Chasity Elias, Caitlyn Holinsworth and Callyn Holinsworth. Alma was preceded in death by: her husband, Johnny; her parents: Day and Wyonna; brothers: Daniel and Paul Swinford and a sister, Susie Pool.Visitation Bixby Funeral Service 13307 S.
