Volodymyr Leonenko Obituary It is with great sadness that the family of Volodymyr Leonenko announces his passing on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the age of 60 years. Volodymyr is lovingly remembered by his wife of 38 years, Alevtyna, his children, Lisa and Katya and his mother, Kateryna. He will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Denis and Alexandra. He was preceded in death by his father, Grygoriy. On January 4, 1959, Volodymyr was born in the small town of Bogate in southeastern Ukraine where he attended school. He we very athletic and loved to play soccer. Volodymyr loved spending time outdoors at the lake where he spent numerous hours catching crawdads. He also had many great memories hunting pheasant with his father. Volodymyr loved riding bicycles and started driving a motorcycle at the age of 12. Upon graduation from college in Berdyansk, Volodymyr enlisted into the army where he served within the armored division. He then pursued a successful career as a civil engineer, traveling abroad while working on various projects constructing nuclear and thermal power generation facilities.Volodymyr will be remembered as a loving husband, the best father in the whole world, and a caring grandfather. He was a hard worker who never lost his sense of humor, no matter the difficulties he encountered. Volodymyr will be forever remembered for his loud singing voice which would wake up his children in the morning when they were young. He was always ready to come to aid at any time, no matter the distance. Volodymyr was a foody and loved spending time with the family. The pets would always sleep next to him and he’d always share the best piece of the food with them. Volodymyr could fix absolutely everything, even what seemingly couldn’t be fixed. He fixed his grandchildren’s toys and helped build his daughter’s house. Volodymyr would always come with the best gifts from his out of country business trips, bringing unique sweets for his children. He was always optimistic no matter the circumstances. Even during his terminal illness, Volodymyr joked with the doctors and spread joy no matter where he was. He had a strong will to live and fought hard against his illness until the very end. Volodymyr will remain an inspiration for his entire family for generations to come.A celebration of Volodymyr’s life will be held privately in Bixby, OK.
