Rosa Maria Gesinski

Rosa Maria "Rosita" Gesinski, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at her residence in Tulsa, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 23, 1949, in Mexico City, Rosita was the beloved daughter of Mateo and Victoria Algeria Marquez. One of 16 children, she attended a Catholic boarding school in Mexico City. Her life journey took her from Mexico City to Quebec, then Toronto, Houston and finally Dallas before a position with Sabre and American Airlines brought her and her family to Tulsa in 1988. Here, Rosita and her husband Frank made their home, raising their two children, Eric and Marni. Rosita met Frank, who was working with her brother, and the couple married on August 7, 1976, in Mexico City. They have been dedicated members of St. Bernard's Parish since 1988. As a mother, Rosita was loving, consistent, compassionate, empathetic, and deeply involved in every aspect of her children's lives. She had a profound love for serving the people she cared about. Rosita enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening, possessing a magnificent green thumb. It was often said that if you had a dead plant, you could take it to Rosita, and it would be thriving within a week. Rosita worked as an interpreter at Saint Francis Health System, where she was highly respected for her exceptional skills and leadership. She consistently provided valuable guidance and direction to both patients and colleagues. Known for her mentorship, boundless energy, and strong advocacy, Rosita made a lasting impact on those she worked with and served. Rosita is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her two children, Eric Gesinski and daughter-in-law Carly, and Marni Gesinski; her granddaughter, Isabel Stilson; three brothers, Mateo Marquez, Luis Marquez, and Javier Marquez; and two sisters, Madre Angelica Trejo and Madre Alma Trejo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sister Vicky Trejo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 16, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Parish. Friends may greet the family at the rosary ceremony at 6 PM on Monday evening, also at St. Bernard's. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Xavier Medical Clinic. Rosita's presence, love, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed.
