Patricia Simpson Obituary Pat Morton Simpson was born March 17, 1949, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to John Charles and Betty (Estep) Morton. She married Michael Simpson and welcomed two children, Jessica, and Mike. Her family would grow to include five grandchildren, Corey, Clay, Jacob, Kade, and Mckynlee along with a great-granddaughter, Charlee. Pat worked in accounting for over 20 years before going back to school to get an Associates and a Bachelors’ degree. She then achieved another professional goal by passing the CPA exam. She continued to work in various accounting roles and retired from Spirit Aerosystems. When she was not at work, Pat found numerous hobbies and activities that held her attention. In fact, she even enrolled in classes to learn more about painting and art, pie making, photography, stained glass, furniture reupholstering and restoration, country dancing, and small engine repair! She also enjoyed sewing and quilting, creating decorations and signs, and was a great cook who even catered weddings. She was most famous for her deviled eggs, artichoke dip, potato soup, and snickerdoodle cookies. Buying distressed properties and fixing them up to sell or rent was another activity that Pat participated in. If she didn’t know how to do something, she would figure it out. She learned to tile, paint, install ceiling fans, toilets, and faucets. A strong, independent, and fierce woman, Pat inspired those around her to never quit learning, growing, or doing. If someone around her was struggling and needed help, she would not hesitate to lend a hand. Helping others and making a positive impact brought her great joy. This could be seen with people and even pets as she had a great love of dogs and rescues. She began to say that she took the old, broken-down dogs because she and ‘daddy’ were getting old and broken down too. She was a wonderful caregiver for 15 years to her husband. Honest and fair, true to her word, and generous are words that help to describe Pat. She was also known to say exactly what she thought, even when it was a bit too much! She had a way of making others laugh, sometimes at her own expense. She had a certain grit about her, yet at the same time was unselfish of her time, money, and resources. She loved her family and friends more than anything else. Pat passed away on December 27, 2022, in Tulsa. She was 73. She was preceded in death by: her paternal grandparents: John Carroll Morton and Lydia (Kronmiller) Morton; maternal grandparents: Jonnie William Estep and Izetta Caldonia (Butler) Estep; parents: John Charles Morton and Betty Aliene (Estep) Morton; sister, Izetta Aliene (Morton) Gandy and brother-in-law, Bill Gandy; life-long friend and sister-in-law, Rosie Bullard and Marshall Bullard. She is survived by: her husband, Mike Simpson; daughter, Jessica Alsup and husband, Clyde; son, Mike Simpson and wife, Jennifer; grandsons: Corey Sexton and partner, Christal Wade; Clay Sexton, Jacob Simpson and Kade Simpson; granddaughter, Mckynlee Simpson; great-granddaughter, Charlee Sexton; sister, Jodi McLeroy and husband Roger McLeroy; maternal nieces: Denise McLeroy Kimball and Kimberly Murdock; maternal nephew, Kelly McLeroy; paternal nieces: Chelsea Cox, Amanda Blackwell, and Dana Malburg; paternal nephews: Eli Bullard, Nick Malburg, and Alex Blackwell. In addition, she is survived by: four great nieces, four great nephews, four great-great nieces, three great-great nephews, three maternal aunts, one maternal uncle, and a host of cousins.
