Norman Jones Obituary Norman J. Jones was born March 20, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Eugene Jones and Wilma (Baxter) Jones. He was raised and educated in Sapulpa, graduating with the Class of 1974.At a young age, Norman sought employment at the local grocery store, Humpty, Dumpty. It was there that a young lady, Dianna Wilson, noticed the young- and good-looking man, working as a sacker. He was so polite and at just 12 years old, God told her that Norman was going to be the man she would marry. It wouldn’t be until 1976 that the two would officially meet. However, Dianna’s parents made them wait to date until Dianna turned 18. They had their first date on February 4, 1977, just a few weeks after her birthday. They married a year later on February 2, 1979 in Sapulpa, where they made their home. Norman worked as a machinist and was lucky to retire before most. An entrepreneur, he owned several rental properties. Norman was a good judge of character and appreciated good tenants. In his younger years, he also owned a motorcycle shop, Indian Cycles. He enjoyed the outdoors and deer hunting. Norman could grow just about anything in his garden. He had a garden every year for 43 years. Norman was a bit of a homebody and could be found sitting on the patio with his best friend, Buck, by his side waiting for Dianna to get home. Described as funny, a simple man, and country boy, Norman will be greatly missed. He passed away September 9, 2022. He was 67. Those he leaves to cherish his memory are his wife, Dianna Jones and Buck; sister, Phillis (Ted) Thompson; brothers, Jack (Sandy) Jones, Mike (Elaine) Jones; sister, Jeanne McCool (Barry); along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Jones. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Rivercrest Chapel, Bixby.
