Michael Elihue Throneberry

Michael Elihue Throneberry, 70, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 11, 2025. Born in Roswell, New Mexico, Mike was the son of Clifton Jr. and Emma Jean (Sherril) Throneberry. As the son of a pipeliner, Mike's childhood was one of adventure and travel, crisscrossing the United States with his family. Though the road was long, Tulsa and Haskell remained home, with some time spent in Pryor. He attended Memorial High School in Tulsa and graduated from Haskell High School with the Class of 1973, where he proudly played football for the Haymakers. Mike went on to attend Oklahoma State University before embarking on a distinguished career as a welder in the pipeline industry, following in his father's footsteps as a dedicated member of Local 798 Union. Mike was a man of remarkable strength and skill, as strong as an ox and a great marksman. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest joy in nature-hunting deer and turkey, and fishing the waters he loved so well. His prowess as a fisherman earned him many awards and the deep respect of fellow sportsmen. Mike met his beloved wife, Mickie, through her cousin, a mutual friend, and their bond grew into a lifetime of love and partnership. Those who knew Mike best would describe him as generous and creative, a man who could build anything he set his mind to. His deep love for nature was matched only by his love for his family, whom he cherished above all else. Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Mickie; his mother, Emma Jean Throneberry; his children, Amy Neely (Ryan) and Jon Michael Throneberry (Lacey); his grandchildren, Elliott, Emmalynn, Everly, and Lydia; and his sister, Cheryl Ann McCloud and her husband Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Jr. Throneberry, and his brother, Stephen Dwight Throneberry. Mike's strength, generosity, and love of the outdoors will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, and a life well-lived in harmony with nature. A service to honor Mike's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2025, in the Rivercrest Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, also at Rivercrest.
