Lois Ann Carpenter

Lois Ann Carpenter, born on January 10, 1947, in Emporia, Kansas, to parents Louis William Decker and Thelma Irene Schankie. She peacefully passed away June 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. Lois graduated from Burlington High School in 1965 and pursued her passion for beauty and cosmetology at Crum's Beauty College in Manhattan, Kansas, from July 5, 1965, to April 14, 1966. Her talent and dedication to her craft led her to open her own beauty salon, High Style, in the old Peter Pan Store with her dear friend, Marsha Wiechman. She later continued her career at Uptown Style Shop, working alongside Sarah Withers (Owner/Friend), Mary (Adams) Holladay and Connie Adams. After more than 25 years of service as a cosmetologist and working a few other jobs in between Lois retired in 1991 due to Breast Cancer. In 1967, Lois married Kenneth "John" Jackson, and together they welcomed three wonderful children into the world: Conni, Toni, and Scott. Their marriage spanned over 20 years before they amicably parted ways. On March 3, 1990, Lois found love again and married Richard "Dick" Carpenter, an inspector in the oil field. They eventually settled in Tulsa in 1995, making their home in Owasso. Their life together was an adventurous journey, taking them across the globe to places like Africa, St. Croix, Los Angeles, Corpus Christi, Saudi Arabia, St. Louis, and even the Bermuda Triangle. Lois's life was filled with a multitude of hobbies and passions. She had a remarkable green thumb, tending to her beloved flowers, and was a gifted seamstress, often creating beautiful clothes. Her love for reading, crocheting, and knitting brought her joy and peace. Above all, Lois's greatest accomplishment was raising her three beautiful children, who have grown to become wonderful contributors to the world, a testament to her love and guidance. Lois will be remembered for her unwavering love and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as she loved them "forever and a day". Lois was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Thelma, Nephews Lance Birk and Cory Leffler, a Stepson Paul Carpenter on December 27, 2006, her husband Dick Carpenter on March 30, 2012, and her Children's father John Jackson on May 14, 2020. Those she leaves to cherish her memory are children, Conni (Bill) Buvens, Yukon, OK; Toni (Gene) Peterson, Inman, KS, Scott (Dawn) Jackson, Oologah, OK, Stepson Gary Carpenter, Isanti, MN, and Stepdaughter Carrie (Jim) Kramer, Frankfort, IL.
