Linda Charlene Wolf

Linda Wolf Obituary Born August 5, 1939, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Linda was the daughter of Gladys Faye Muncrief. She was also raised by her father, Joe Cook. An only child, Linda grew up and received her education in Tulsa. She told stories of how she spent most of her childhood indoors because her mother did not like her getting dirty! She would get to make up for that, later in life, as she spent plenty of time as a ‘free’ ranch hand while Jerry was out of town. With a close-knit extended family near her, Linda would grow close to her cousins. In fact, they became some of her closest friends and remained that way throughout her lifetime. Getting together with family was a favorite for Linda. She was quite fond of the numerous family reunions spent on Lake Texoma. Strength in family and in laboring, Linda’s strengths did not end there. She was also an extremely gifted pianist. Her dad was quite proud of her talents and would brag that she could ‘pound those keys’ as well as anyone! Being an accomplished pianist meant playing in many facets. Through the years, she was very involved and faithful in church and was asked to play at almost any gathering she attended. One of her favorite groups to play for was the Harbinger quartet. It was a bit humorous that this refined, and talented, city girl ended up moving out to the country on what she referred to as, “the backside of never”. She learned to drive a stick and could do any of the required tasks, such as: feeding, breaking ice, etc… When she found a bit of free time, Linda enjoyed working on her ceramics or getting together with family. It has been said that Linda wanted what she wanted, when she wanted it… AND she usually got it! At the same time, she would do anything for anyone. She loved her children and grandchildren, more than anything, and enjoyed spoiling them. She was very giving and immediately accepted others who were brought into her family with open arms. Linda passed from this life on October 8, 2022 in Mounds. She was 83. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry Wolf. She is survived by: her children: daughter, Lynnette Rhoads and husband, Jim; sons: Layne and Lee Stice; grandchildren: Derek, Nathan, Jake, Kyle, Kory, and Bryan. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren along with numerous other family members and friends.
