Ethel R (Russell) Rhinehart

Ethel Rhinehart Obituary Services honoring the life of Ethel Rhinehart will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the RiverCrest Chapel in Bixby. Interment will be at 1:00 pm at Bixby Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1-4:00 pm Tuesday, also at RiverCrest Chapel. Ethel was born November 1, 1933 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Fred and Dollie Russell. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and 9 siblings: Wilson, Bessie, James, Walter, Dorothy, John "Lewis," Mary, Bob, and Doris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rhinehart. Ethel is survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Ethel was raised in the Graphic community near Mountainburg, Arkansas during the Great Depression years. She attended the Cain School and graduated from Alma High School in May 1951. After graduation, she moved with her mother and father to the Los Angeles area. In 1965, she met and married Joe Rhinehart while living in California. Later that year, both she and Joe moved to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area to be closer to family. Ethel retired from Amoco Oil Company in Tulsa. She and Joe moved to Bixby, Oklahoma where they were active in the community and their church. Ethel accepted Christ as her savior in the late 1940's while attending a revival led by Gaylord and Mrs. Smith. She was a faithful church member throughout her life and taught Sunday School classes to both young and old for many years. Ethel always exemplified a positive outlook and a strong faith to carry her through both good and tough times. Those that knew her as a friend or family looked up to her courageous spirit and positive outlook. She was a true inspiration and lived out her faith in every aspect. The legacy that Ethel leaves behind is a testament to God's goodness and faithfulness. Without discrimination to creed or denomination Ethel would want you to know that God has a bigger plan for your life than you have for yourself. The legacy of Ethel's life is not measured by the material treasures man places importance on but measured by God's unconditional love for the human race, the precious gift of life He has given us all.
