David Wall Obituary David Wallace Wall, 80, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Hodges Wall; his son, Lane and wife, Lauren and his daughter, Angie and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Leah, Hanna, Aidan, Connor and Hatter; great grand-daughter, Lani; sister, Jane and husband, Marty Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Maurine; and brother, Richard. Wallace was born on July 3, 1943 in Roscoe, TX. He grew up on a cotton farm in Hermleigh, TX, graduating from Hermleigh High School, where he excelled in all sports and was voted "Most Popular", "Pep Squad Hero" and "Who's Who" of his high school. Wallace went on to run track on a full athletic scholarship at Baylor University. He was a loyal and true Baylor Bear. Wallace married his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Hodges, on August 15, 1964. He graduated from Baylor in May 1965 with a Bachelor degree in Business and was drafted into the U.S. Army in June 1965. After his enlistment in the Army, Wallace started his career in oil and gas at BP Amoco in 1968, where he spent the entirety of his career until his retirement, in 2002. He and his family moved between Tulsa, Houston and Chicago numerous times over the course of his career. Wallace and Carolyn retired in Tulsa, OK where they have lived ever since. Wallace, or better know by most as "Wally", had a huge network of friends from days of new and old. He enjoyed many rounds of golf in his years, playing the guitar, his weekly "bored" (yes, that's bored, not board) meetings with his friends and his appreciation of the Merle Haggard and George Jones era of traditional country music. But more than anything, he loved his family and grandkids and was so proud of all their accomplishments. Wallace was a Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Pilgrim-Rock Masonic Lodge #522 and the Akdar Shriners. He loved spending time with his Scottish brethren, particularly the Royal Order of Jesters. A celebration of life honoring and remembering Wallace will be held Friday, September 8 at 3:00pm, in the Mason Chapel of Asbury Church in Tulsa. A reception will follow at Meadowbrook Country Club.
