Christy Baker Obituary Services to honor and celebrate the life of Christy Baker will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the River Crest Chapel, Bixby. Christy's family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. Christy passed away on Thursday in Oklahoma City. She was 43. We all know Christy differently in very special ways. To Chris she is his loving wife, to Daxton and Austin she is their mother, Christy is also a daughter, a sister, to others she is an aunt, a niece, or simply a great friend. Christy was born February 19th, 1976 and was a shining light from the very beginning. Christy came into this world with two parents that loved her with all their heart and a big brother to watch over her and protect her. When Christy was a little girl she would beg for a little sister. The day that dream came true she was so excited to be able to dress her up, inspire her, and be a role model for her. Christy spent her youthful years always having a playmate since she had six brothers and two sisters to inspire her imagination. When Christy became a teenager and started spreading her wings, she loved hanging out with friends and cruising down Memorial. When she was in high school, she was introduced to a young man named Chris Baker. One of the first things Christy said to him was that she didn't like men with facial hair and to her surprise when he showed up the very next day, with a fully shaved face, from that day on - they were inseparable. Not long after her marriage to Chris Baker, the two were blessed with their first son Daxton, who changed Christy's world. Motherhood was her calling and she wanted to spend every moment with him. Christy loved telling the story about how fast he arrived, with no time to spare. A couple years later they were joined by the most handsome little boy, Austin. Austin gave her the purpose she was always looking for. When Christy was a little girl, and people would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer was always the same, "A mom". Christy loved seeing the face of her two boys so much that she would keep the Christmas pictures with Santa that were taken each year out all year long. Christy always knew the relationship with her sons was such a strong bond that she wanted to cherish every moment with her boys that she could. Christy was so proud of her boys and said that all she wanted was them to be happy, and to be themselves and to have a kind loving heart.In the midst of Christy's life, she was diagnosed with Cancer but was so strong and so determined that she made it through all the treatments with the support of her family and friends. Christy wanted to live and wanted to show her family how to be strong even after facing such diversity.Some people think that life begins at birth and ends at death, but Christy knew it was an endless journey and that she would become part of this universe and would instantly be in heaven with her loved ones. Christy was determined, free spirited, outspoken, honest, loyal and above all she was a loving wife and doting mother. If you were close to Christy you would know that if she had an opinion about something, she wouldn't hesitate to say something or tell you the truth. That was one of the most honest things about her.Christy said one time that she knows when her Daddy passed away that she would be with him again. Christy is now an angel in heaven standing side-by-side with her Daddy watching over all her loved ones and will be waiting for them on the other side. When you feel sad, Christy would say to remember all the great times you had with her, remember that she loved living every moment to the fullest.
