Barbara Williams Obituary Our mother, Barbara Lou Williams, was born in Tulsa, OK on May 25, 1945. Our Lord and Savior took her home on December 26, 2020.Barbara met and dealt with many life challenges, beginning with a childhood disease that nearly claimed her life at the age of four. She survived polio and lived with its affects to her body the rest of her long life. Her strength to preserve through multiple surgeries and lifelong pain, is a testament to how she lived. Her faith in a Loving and Caring God provided her with Great Strength, Great Determination, and an unending independence. The doctors of the time predicted she would never walk again. Her “God” given “will” proved them wrong. She didn’t get to run and jump and play like the other kids did, but through her life she still wanted to be outside. She enjoyed watching children play, birds singing, humming birds feeding from meal she prepared, the sun touching her skin, and visiting with her neighbors.Her love for life was expressed in the beauty she created with her paintings and crocheted items that she passed on to a long list of family members. Her creativity knew no bounds for she was always changing, forever growing.Her beauty was not just in the things she made, but with her sparkling eyes and dimpled smile that she shared with everyone. She was always willing to laugh and share joy and love to those closest to her.On December 26 2019, exactly a year before, she got dizzy and fell, awakening in the hospital, a diagnosis of double pneumonia had been given. Her lungs weakened by age, medical technology breathed for her. She fought a hard fight to get better so she could go to the home she loved. God has given her a beautiful home now. One where the limits that life gave her, she no longer has. She can walk with no pain and with her mom and dad whom she loved so much. We, “The Family’ will be comforted by an eternity of no pain and her being surrounded by those who have gone on to Heaven before her.Barbara was preceded in death by, half sister, Ardeth Pauline Wright, mother, Deween Audrey Smith, father, Saint Elmo Smith, half sister, Marilyn Ann Watts, sister, Shirley May Sommers.Barbara is survived by sisters, Winona Byrre and Pauline Johnson, daughters, Natalie Williams and Yvonne Clark, grandchildren, Mellissa Lowe, Stacy Jones, Christopher Heflin and Aundie Donohue, great grandchildren, Kole and Kristian Lowe, Gavin and Janette Jones, Brendan, Cassidy, BriAnne, Raelynn and Brayden Heflin, Raffeal Miller and Augustino Donohue, along with 13 nieces, nephews, and their families.Services to honor and celebrate the life of Barbara Lou Williams will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Rivercrest Chapel, Bixby, Ok.
