Auntie April was a gifted maker - she inspired me to piece a quilt (and inspected my stitches and encouraged me) and also created an amazing buckskin dress that is a family treasure to this day. She and I had a special connection and I treasure the memories I have with her. She started a quilt for my college graduation and gave it to me - finishing it is up to me. I better get on that. My small, crooked stitches next to her tidy stitches. 🧵 🩵
