Ruth was not just a woman of faith; she embodied the very essence of faith! Her unwavering devotion to her Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in every aspect of her life. Born on October 31, 1928, in Winchester, TN, Ruth was a daughter, a sister, a mother, an aunt, and a friend. Her journey was marked by love, laughter, and an unyielding commitment to her family and her faith. Ruth's love story with her beloved Albert was one for the ages. Their union, forged in the halls of bible college, was a testament to the power of love and devotion. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges with grace and humility. Their love bore fruit in the form of two wonderful children, Peggy and David, whom they cherished beyond measure. But Ruth's love extended far beyond her immediate family. She had a heart as vast as the heavens, always ready to welcome others with open arms. Her kitchen table was a sanctuary where souls found solace, and hearts found hope. Whether it was through a simple conversation or a shared hymn, Ruth had a gift for touching the lives of those around her in profound ways. Her faith was her compass, guiding her through the darkest of nights and the brightest of days. Ruth gave her life to Jesus at the tender age of 9, and from that moment on, her spirit radiated with the light of His love. She found peace in the words of Isaiah 26:3, "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." Ruth's dedication to Christ was unwavering, a steadfast anchor in a world filled with uncertainty. She walked five miles to church with her grandfather and sister, a testament to her commitment to her spiritual journey. And even in the smallest of moments, she found opportunities to share the love of Jesus with others. Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and joy. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, her strength and dignity were her clothing, and she laughed at the days to come. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Rider, and her sisters, Georgia, Eileen, and Louise. Though they may have departed this earth before her, their spirits live on in the memories she cherished. Ruth's memory will live on in the hymns she loved, the butterflies and hummingbirds she adored, and the beauty of God's creation that she reveled in. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us take comfort in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her beloved Albert and those who went before her. Though our hearts may ache with sorrow, we find solace in the hope of a joyful reunion in the presence of our Lord. Annie Ruth Rider will be dearly missed, but her love will echo through eternity.
