Services honoring Tony Edward Tucker, Jr. will be held 12:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Tony passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Catoosa at the age of 74.
Tony was born May 23, 1946 in Tulsa to Tony Sr. and Gladys (Libby) Tucker. He grew up in Tulsa and spent a lot of time with his grandpa and uncle in the Poteau area, hunting, riding horses and fishing. Tony was a Choctaw Indian and could sit for hours telling stories about his ancestors. He served in the US Army in the Vietnam War. He was a medic and a very patriotic man. He had a very deep love for our country.
Tony was a stockbroker and financial planner for many years. He owned his own business and made many friends through his work. Tony loved bass fishing. He spent many years when his girls were little, traveling to bass tournaments around the country. Tony also loved exercising and weightlifting, a daily part of his life until 2019.
Survivors include his daughters and their families, Jennifer Baker, married to Todd, grandsons Alex (and fiancé Isa) and Koyt, and his great grandson, Lincoln.
Melissa Merryman and her husband, Jeff, granddaughters Bailey and her husband, Dalton, and Harper, grandsons, Dalton and Jack, great grandsons Myles and Nash.
Dad enjoyed spending time with his family, the best years were spent at his home, swimming, grilling, just hanging out together. He also loved dancing and driving his cherry red Corvette. He was fun to be around and “larger than life.” Tony will be missed greatly.
Tony was preceded in death by his dad, Tony Sr., his mother, Gladys, and sisters, Connie and Judy.
