Suzanne Billingsley

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Suzie Billingsley will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the 29th & Yale Church of Christ, Tulsa. Suzie passed from this life on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She was 64.

Suzanne (Suzie) Jean Billingsley was born in Athens, Greece to Donnie and Marie Morgan. She had 3 siblings Donna, Tom, and Nancy. Her father worked for the U.S. Government. Because of Donnie’s job the family lived in El Salvador, Sterling Park, Virginia, and Italy. The family enjoyed many adventures. Suzie attended Guilford Elementary in Sterling Park, Virgina, OSR in Rome, Italy, and Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virgina.

As a child, Suzie loved playing outside, riding her bike and was a girl scout. The family worshipped at the Great Falls Church of Christ. She decided to follow God and was baptized when she was eight years old. In middle school, Suzie loved going to church camp and acting and singing in plays.

In High School, Suzie loved singing in the Madrigal Singers and marching with the Flag Corp. She worked for Meadows Farm Plant Nursery and Woolco. She graduated from Broad Run High School in 1977. She enjoyed many church activities in High School including church camp, teen dinners, and Bible study.

Suzie attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 1977. Her first Sunday at Cloverdale Church of Christ she met Brent Billingsley. They dated two years. Suzie was a member of the Regina Social Club and marched in Harding’s first Flag Corp and sang in the chorus.

Brent and Suzie Billingsley were married on July 28th, 1979, at the Cloverdale Church of Christ. Brent and Suzie helped each other finish their degrees and worked part-time cleaning. Suzie completed her degree in Elementary Education in December 1981.

Brent and Suzie moved to Tulsa, OK in 1982. They worshiped at the 29th and Yale Church of Christ. She worked for Newman’s Oil Valves and the 29th and Yale Church of Christ. Later in life, she worked as a preschool teacher at Kids Kare.

Brent and Suzie were blessed with three daughters, Megan, Brenda, and Wendy born in 1985, 1988 and 1991. She loved taking care of her girls and being a homemaker. Our family loved playing with baby dolls, Barbies, having tea parties, playing outside, doing art, and reading books. We loved VBS, Bible Bowl and Church camp. We raised our girls at 29th and Yale. We had fun family devotionals, acting out Bible stories, singing songs, playing games, and having special snacks.

We had fun family trips to Robbers Cave, Devils Den, and Branson. We had some special trips to Williamsburg, Virgina, San Antonio, Texas, Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida.

Brent and Suzie had a wonderful life together. They had been married for 44 years. Brent and Suzie taught their daughters to love God. Suzie loved God and dedicated her life to serving Him.

Suzie passed away on August 3rd, 2023. Suzie is survived by her husband, Brent Billingsley. Her daughters and their husbands, Megan and Paul Walvoord, Brenda and Philip Deal, and Wendy and Isaac Hutchins, Her grandchildren, William and Emma Walvoord and Caroline and Theodore Hutchins. Her siblings and spouses Donna and Richard Holloway, Tom and Sara Morgan, and Nancy and Jeff Schweikhard. Nephews and Nieces, Tim and Ryan Morgan, Jodi Murray, and Dan and Kayla Schweikhard.
