Her ashes will be scattered at a future date. Sue passed away Friday July 1, 2022 at her home in Sand Springs. She was 75 years old.
Born August 15, 1946 and raised in Enid, she was the daughter of Leroy and Vivian (Smith) Murray. Sue graduated from Enid High School in 1964 and following school began working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a phone operator. In addition to several other administrative positions over the years, she also managed the books for the family business, John Quigley Electric. In 1999, she moved to the Tulsa area to be near her daughter Tammy. She was employed by American Airlines until her retirement in 2015.
Sue was married to John Quigley from 1964-1990. They were blessed with two daughters, Tammy and Kim. Kim was a State Poster Child for Muscular Dystrophy for several years prior to her passing in November of 1981.
She was an avid reader, loved to fish and spent many hours being creative with ceramics. Sue enjoyed watching the History Channel and National Geographic. Her favorite breakfast place was IHOP, loved Chocolate No Bake cookies, and was always eager to find a good medium rare steak. Most of all she loved her family, friends and co-workers.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Kim, and beloved sister Paula Boatright-Sturgeon.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy Rankin and son-in-law Chris, granddaughter Ashley Rankin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her precious dog Buttercup.
