Sharon Gael (Foster) Rhees, 82, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. Devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and aunt, she was known and will be remembered for her strong faith in God, her kindness, her unselfishness, her beautiful smile, and her wonderful sense of humor.
Sharon was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 24, 1940, and her family soon after moved to the Tulsa, OK area where she attended Central High School and graduated in 1958. She attended college at Oklahoma State University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. In 1959, Sharon was named Miss Sand Springs, and was runner-up in the Miss Oklahoma pageant, a true testament to her beauty, wisdom, and talent.
Sharon met and married the love of her life, William B. Rhees, II in 1962, and together they shared many adventures over the years. She and Bill especially enjoyed playing good-natured practical jokes on their friends, and while most of the blame fell on her husband, many never knew that the ideas were usually hers.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Patrick Rhees and Philip Rhees, who she jokingly (?) claimed she never stopped raising. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Gena (Phil's wife), grandson Corey William Rhees and his wife Morgan, and granddaughter, Rachel Marie Rhees. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Rhees, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William B. Rhees, II, her parents Paul and Alice Foster, her brother Paul Foster and his wife Robbie, and her sister Joniel Russell and her husband Harold.
A small memorial service for family only will be held on April 28th at Rose Hill Cemetery.
