Born March 3, 1950, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Sharon was the third of six children, the daughter of Lyle Hollis and Mary Jolene (Gray) Smoot. Raised mostly in Featherston, Sharon attended school in Quinton where she graduated high school with the Class of 1968. The couple spent nearly 30 wonderful years together owning a farm and enjoying each other’s time prior to Bert’s passing on August 31, 2022. Sharon loved to play Jacks and like everything she endeavored, she excelled!

Professionally, Sharon taught elementary school both in Norman and Mounds, Oklahoma. While in Norman, she served as Director of the CETA programs for Cleveland County. In her recreational time, she loved gardening, so much that her beautiful flowers once appeared on the cover of Southern Living Magazine.
