The funeral service for Shane Pittser will be live-streamed 11 AM Friday, July 31, 2020, from the RiverCrest Chapel in Bixby via Bixby Funeral Service’s Facebook page. He passed away suddenly Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the age of 47.
Shane Russell Pittser was born November 6, 1972, in Tulsa, the son of Teddy and Vannessa (Hougland) Pittser. Shane had many exciting travel opportunities with his family growing up. They traveled by cruise ship often throughout Florida and the Bahamas and even had the good fortune of living on Lake Tahoe for a few years. Shane mostly attended Bixby and Sapulpa schools.
A patriot and servant at heart, Shane enlisted with the Oklahoma National Guard in November of 1991. He deployed to Oklahoma City during the bombings, where he worked tirelessly in the search and rescue efforts. Shane was honorably discharged from service in 1999 and served for several years as a deputy with the Creek County Sherriff’s Department.
Shane married Jennifer Talley in 2002, and the couple raised two boys together. He was a huge movie and TV buff, especially with his children. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, as Shane was a kid at heart. He loved being outdoors, riding dirt bikes, snowboarding in the mountains, and just spending time in nature. Shane cherished the time spent with his boys, especially taking them to the Tulsa zoo. Shane also has an older son who he loves and cherishes very much, Brennan Pittser.
Surviving family include his mother, Vannessa Robb, and husband, Bruce; his grandparents, Art Hougland and Tina Horn; his children, Brennan Pittser, Cole Pittser, and Cruz Pittser; his brothers, Seth Long, and fiancé, Tiffany, Chris Long and wife, Heather, Michael Koster, and Brandon Pittser; his aunt, Donna Hayman; and the mother of his children, Jennifer Pittser.
Shane was preceded in death by his father, Teddy, and his grandparents, Nevada and Emmit Pittser.
