Born December 13, 1934, Ron was the son of Ernest and Frances Edmiston. He was raised in Gonzales, Texas, where he graduated high school in 1952 and played on the football team. Following high school, Ron enlisted in the United States Army. He worked primarily in the transportation division and would remain a train enthusiast for the rest of his lifetime.
A terrific salesman, Ron was employed by Reeve's Appliances in Tulsa, as well as Tyler's Furniture in Sapulpa. Later in life, he worked for the Drive-In Pharmacy, delivering prescriptions to home bound clients.
Ron was also a man devoted to God and he loved reading his Bible. He would study it every day alongside his wife, Pernie. Additionally, Ron loved singing in the church choir, serving in the church’s kitchen, and he participated in numerous mission trips to Nicaragua.
Ron remained physically active well into his retirement years. You could regularly find him walking on the track at the football field in Sapulpa. He was a huge baseball fan, especially the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox. Ron enjoyed attending and supporting their grandchildren's sporting events. His memory will be eternal in the hearts of a host of family and friends who loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Pernie Edmiston; children: Vikki Seggebruch (Scott), Carla Curtis (Rick), Terry Whiteside, Penni Cornwell (Larry), Tonja Shandy, and Jan Anderson (Derrick); grandchildren: Marshall Jordan, Matt Jordan, Mariah Seggebruch, Stephanie Courtney, Brittany Jo Armstrong, Josh Shandy, Jason Shandy, Krista Jones, Lauren Anderson, Kara Anderson, Austin Cornwell, and Tyler Cornwell; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley F. Edmiston; his parents; brother, Richard Edmiston, and his granddaughter, Megan Seggebruch.
