Robert “Bob” Mullins, Sr. was born September 27, 1939 in Lincoln, Arkansas to John Mylan Mullins and Rosalie (Montgomery) Mullins. At a young age, the Mullins family moved to Tulsa where Bob was raised. He graduated from Will Rogers High School and continued his education by attending Oklahoma State University and later Tulsa University.
As a young boy in Tulsa, Bob sang with the Tulsa Boys Choir.
Bob found employment as a mail boy with Bethlehem Supply. His superiors quickly learned of his great knowledge for technology and was soon promoted. Bob worked at various other companies before finding a career with Unit Corporation. He was employed there for more than 20 years, retiring as the IT Manager in 2006.
At his cousin’s Halloween party in 1981, Bob would meet a young lady by the name of Connie Haynes. They got along so well and were together from then on. The two married in January of 1984 in the Tulsa Presbyterian South Chapel. The couple just celebrated 37 years of marriage in South Padre on January 7, 2021.
Bob was an avid golfer and fisherman. He frequented the local golf courses several times a week. He was thrilled to have had the opportunity to golf abroad, including Scotland. He would also take his friends on fishing expeditions: local lakes, trips to the Gulf, Canada or Mexico. When not busy golfing or fishing, Bob and Connie spent much time traveling and cruising. They cruised all over: Alaska, Caribbean, Italy, Scotland, London and Mediterranean.
Very talented and handy, Bob could fix just about anything. He was hardworking, patient, kind and caring. He passed away February 14, 2021. He was 81.
Those he leaves to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Mullins; sons, Scott Mullins, Mike Mullins, Robert Mullins, Jr. and wife, Val; his beloved dog “5 Star” Elvis, grandchildren, Rachel Anderson and husband, Andy, Robert Mullins III and wife, Melanie, Kellen Mullins, Morgan Allenbaugh and husband, Taylor, Kyle Mullins, Brady Mullins Chism, Jessie, Taylor and Bailey Mullins; brother-in-law, Tom Haynes and wife, Gaylyn; sister-in-law Linda Cunningham and her husband Al, sister-in-law Carla Bryant, brother-in-law John Haynes and his wife Tammi, and five great-grandchildren.
