Services honoring and remember Rhory “Roy” Lynn Terry will be held 11 AM Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Rivercrest Chapel in Bixby. The service can be viewed at the following link: Rory Lynn Terry (funeralvue.com) The family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM Thursday, also at Rivercrest. Roy passed away Monday evening, November 8, 2021 at the Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 70 years old.

Roy was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 17, 1951, the son of H.I. and Cordell (Clements) Terry. His father gained employment with American Airlines when Roy was a young boy, relocating their family to Tulsa. Roy graduated from East Central High School in 1969.

During his high school years, Roy was actively involved with speed skating at the local skating rink on Mingo Road. He would also meet Kay Scoggins in 1968 through mutual friends. The young couple married shortly thereafter April 12, 1969 at the East Side Church of Christ in Tulsa.

Roy and Kay were both employed by Sipes Grocery Store during their early years of marriage. He worked as a stocker and eventually a grocery manager. After working for multiple grocery stores, Roy eventually pursued a long career with Rainbow Bread for almost 40 years. He retired in 2013.

A perfectionist to say the least, Roy could build most anything you could ever ask for in his garage workshop. Such projects included trophies, treehouses, beds, and even jewelry that his daughter, Rebecca found on Pinterest. Roy built an amazing two-story clubhouse with four beds, electrical outlets, a slide, and even a zipline for the children. Everything was alphabetized accordingly and had it’s own spot. Roy was ever so generous and never minded if you borrowed something however, it was very important that you returned the item exactly where you found it!

Family was obviously everything to Roy Terry, especially the grandchildren - so much so that he had two paw prints tattooed on his right shoulder representing his most important role in life as a “Paw-Paw.” Roy was a dedicated fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Washington Nationals. May Roy’s memory be eternal among a host of family and friends who loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Terry; his children: Rebecca Schanks (Billy), Mikey Terry (Rachel), and Amanda Terry; his grandchildren: Kyle, Ryan, Jake, D.J., Sydney, and Brodie Terry; great grandson, Jonah; his sister, Cheryl Terry; and brother, Wes Terry.

Roy was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Terry and his parents.
