Peggy Jane Christiansen was born January 29, 1937 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Caves and Marie (Birmingham) Caves. She was reared and educated in Tulsa, graduating from Webster High School in 1955, where Peggy was a cheerleader.
During her school years, Peggy met a young man, Orville Christiansen. The two quickly became a couple after Orville's dad played matchmaker. The two married on June 3, 1955 and made their home in Tulsa.
The Christiansen family grew with the birth of daughters: Cindy, Lori and Karen. The family moved to Leonard in 1963 where they made their home for the past 60 years.
Peggy had many hobbies: fishing, reading, gardening, watching sports, and cooking. Many trips were made to Lake Eufaula where she and Orville owned property at Dutch's Creek. They've been making memories there for over 30 years.
Her true passion was caring for her family. She has been described as a saint and the core of the family. She loved having her family together and often prepared a feast for them!
Peggy passed away August 14, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was 86.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory are husband, Orville Christiansen; daughters, Cindy Dunn and Kim, and Lori Shannon and Drew; grandchildren, Jodi Puryear, Matt Adams, Josh Shannon, Kaci Campbell, Janie Reed, Ginger Walker, and Tomi Jane O'Connor; 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
