Born July 23, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Patsy Sue (Neasby) Fleetwood was the daughter of George W. Neasby and Phyllis (Brock) Neasby. Patsy was the fifth of seven children born to this family. Raised and educated in Bixby, Patsy would soon find herself helping at her grandmother's cafe at the early age of 15. She worked here for several years.
On December 2, 1967, Patsy met Fred "Sonny" Fleetwood at a club in Muskogee. The two began talking which led to their eventual engagement. They married on June 29, 1968 and made their home in Sand Springs. There, Patsy worked as a beautician for more than 10 years. She had her own salon and later worked out of her home.
The family, now of three with the birth of daughter, Leslie, moved to Bixby for a brief period while building a home in Hectorville. They resided in Hectorville until December 2010.
In addition to being a loving wife, Patsy was a loving mother. Throughout her childhood, Leslie remembers playing barbies and boardgames with her mom. Patsy taught Leslie how to paint and make ceramics, served as her Girl Scout leader and softball coach. Patsy attended all of Leslie school activities and made her clothes, which included her prom dresses and even her bridesmaid dresses at her wedding.
Patsy was very crafty, a talented seamstress and a great cook, teaching Leslie her recipes.
Patsy passed away October 7, 2021 at her home with family by her side. Those she leaves to cherish her memory are her daughter, Leslie Bates and husband Stacy; grandchildren, Lacey Hibbs and husband, Micki, and Amanda Bates; great grandchildren, Aly and Waylon; brother, Tom Neasby and wife, Lisa; and sister-in-law, Debbie Neasby.
