Obituary

A funeral ceremony honoring the life of Patsy Jacqueline Bowman will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the Rivercrest Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Friday evening at Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service. Pat passed away Sunday evening, May 14, 2023 in Tulsa. She was 79 years old.

Born March 7, 1944 in Knoxville, Tennesee, Pat was the daughter of Jack and Martha (Lang) Moynihan. Her family moved to Oklahoma in the late 1940's to be nearer family. Her grandfather purchased a farm near Hedrick in 1915. She was practically raised on this farm until moving to Oklahoma City and ultimately, Midwest City in 1955. Pat graduated from Star Spencer High School with the Class of 1961. She attended Florida State University where she earned her college degree in Business Administration.

Pat started her career working in land for Kerr-McGee Corporation in September 1969 through May 1975. She joined Grace Petroleum in September 1978 and worked as a Title Supervisor until January 1981 when she became a landman for C&K Petroleum in Oklahoma City. When Pat began working the state of Arkansas in 1981 for C&K Petroleum, there were 2 female landmen in attendance at the Fort Smith meetings: Pat Bowman & Barbara Courtney. Pat says her favorite memory as a landman during that time was negotiating a Farmout Agreement with Mobil Oil Corporation covering all their leasehold in Arkansas in 1983.

Upon the sale of C&K Petroleum/Enstar Petroleum to Union Texas Petroleum in 1985, she formed Dove Petroleum Consultants in Edmond, OK and consulted for Terra Resources and then Santa Fe Energy in Tulsa. Santa Fe asked Pat to move to Tulsa in 1986 and Tulsa has been her home ever since! Pat spent 18 years working for Helmerich & Payne, Inc./Cimarex before joining Laredo Petroleum, Inc. in July 2008 where she worked until her retirement in 2019.

Pat held many prestigious roles in the oil and gas industry over her long career. She served as Secretary and Vice President of the Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen, as well as several appointments to the TAPL Board. Many in her orbit knew that her real passion was Education and Legislation for the Energy Industry. The TAPL was honored when Pat brought the first Energy Forum in February of 2006. Pat served on the SEA Committee and was a member of the Century Club. Pat received TAPL's Landman of the Year Award in 2011 (the very first ever given) and also received the TAPL Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.

Pat was a wonderful mother to her four children, Keith, Kirk, Sara, and Caleb. A faithful and devoted member of Victory Christian Church, Pat served in Patsy Jacqueline Bowman nursing home and hospital ministries. She deeply cared for others and continually prayed for those in need. Even Covid couldn't stop her. Those she blessed could still see her over Zoom and hear her beautiful voice over the phone. Pat also sang in the mixed choir while living in Midwest City.

Her family and all of those she embraced during her 50-year career are so very fortunate to have known and loved her and received her endless love in return. Pat will be missed by so many. She has joined her Lord and Savior in eternity and is joyfully waiting for us to join her once more. May Pat's memory be eternal in the hearts of all who loved her.

Surviving family include her children, Keith Lemmon, Kirk Wayne Lemmon, and Sara TiceTaylor; and her sister, Barbara Rozgony; grandchildren, Brandon Scott Lemmon, Justin Nathaniel Lemmon, Jacob Tice and his wife, Shanti, Shiloh Goodenough and her husband, Mitchell Murdock, Samuel Tice, and Sophia Taylor; and six great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and her son Caleb Weibel.
