The family will greet friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday at RiverCrest Chapel and Event Center.

Patrick F. Crowell was born November 8, 1934 in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma to James Paul and Goldie Lucille (Hill) Crowell.

Living in the area his whole life, Pat returned home after honorably serving his country in the United States Army in 1959. Upon high school graduation, he served in Company B First Battalion Group 13th Infantry during the Korean Conflict.

Pat met a young lady by the name Almeda Culp. He was introduced through his friend, Tom, who also happened to be Almeda's brother. The two were united in marriage on March 31, 1963 in Miami, Oklahoma. The family grew with the addition of a daughter, Angela and son, William. Pat and Almeda celebrated 45 years of marriage before her death in 2008.

He has lived in his present home since the early 1970's. Pat's home is in the same spot where he graduated from Liberty-Mounds high school.

Pat's early working years were spent as a welder for Patterson Steel. He sought employment with Gregg Manufacturing where he retired as a machinist in 1983. Upon his retirement is when he began to farm and ranch full time. Pat started his farm with just 20 head of cattle and eventually grew it to over 200 head of cattle, which was always a dream of his.

Not only a hard worker, but Pat was also very intelligent. He helped bring to Oklahoma the tree transplanter- after a work trip to Arkansas, he used a photo to design it right here! Pat also contributed to a change in the law that was changed by the Supreme Court. It was just a week ago that he was working on something new- designing a portable chair lift for the disabled.

Pat previously served as a volunteer fireman and a board member of the Liberty Mounds Fire Dept., as well as a previous board member for the Okmulgee Co. Rural Water Dept. He believed so strongly in helping his community that he donated land where the new firehouse stands today.

"There is a right way, a wrong way, and the Pat Crowell way". Pat will be greatly missed by all those that knew him. He passed away May 9, 2023. He was 88.

He is survived by his children, Angela "Angie" Holden of Dallas, TX, and William "Bill" Crowell and wife, LeAnn of Bixby; stepchildren, John Dent of CO, Vickie Lofgren and husband, Jack of Claremore, and Connie Hawley and husband, David of Oklahoma City; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Rozene and husband, Chris, Samantha Crowell and fiancé, Ivan Dodge, and Macey Holden and fiancé, Chris Stuck; 11 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, McKinley, Carter, and Layla Rozene, and Olivia Rose Stuck; numerous step great and great- great grandchildren; brother, Mike Crowell and wife, Janette of Blue Jacket; and a special grand dog, Max.
