Funeral services honoring the life of Nancy Carol Knight will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Rivercrest Chapel in Bixby. Interment will follow in the Bixby Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM Wednesday at Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service. Nancy passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her home in Liberty Mounds. She was 79.
Nancy was born August 14, 1941 in Tulsa, the daughter of Riley James Arnold and Juanita (Peevyhouse) Epperson. She attended Bixby schools and lived in and around the area most of her lifetime. Nancy met Carl Knight at Sherrill’s Drive-In and the couple married on Christmas Eve in 1959.
Nancy worked in retail for many years at Woodland Hills Mall. Nancy was employed by the John A. Brown department store and retired from J.C. Penny’s. Retirement did not last long for Nancy. She opened Nancy’s Unique Gifts and Cleaners in 2001 located in Glenpool.
Purple was Nancy’s favorite color. She loved embroidering, square dancing, traveling, her cadiallac's and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Nancy remained a big fan of 50’s music throughout her entire lifetime. Though she loved her work, Nancy stayed at home with her three children until they started school. Family was always a top priority to Nancy Knight.
Surviving family members include her husband, Carl Knight; her children, Diana Ridgeway, Lisa Knight, and Kelly Knight; co-worker, John who she often referred to as her adopted son; her siblings, Kathy Ellison, Dale Bruner and wife, Cheryl, and Ronnie Epperson; her five beloved grandchildren, Kimberly, Stephanie, Kristi, Hank, and Jessica; and a baker’s dozen great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her two brothers, Tommy and Donnie; her grandson, Andy; as well as her parents.
