Mildred Ruth (Hix) Rodgers was born in Sayre, Oklahoma on August 28, 1947. She graduated from Sunray High School in Sunray, Texas.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, John Mark Hix and Lillian Maud (Sarrels) Hix; sister, Sue Ramirez and daughter, Reneau Dianne Rodgers.
She is survived by two sisters, Glenda Cloyd of Yukon, OK and Carol Cook of Broken Arrow, OK; her husband of 52 years, Jerry Rodgers, eleven nieces and nephews; twenty-seven great nieces and nephews, four great-great nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends that she called family.
Mildred and Jerry have lived in Bixby for twenty-nine years and have attended The Assembly for twenty-five years. She loved her family and called all the kids her little honeys.
Mildred never met a stranger and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She loved unconditionally never seeing anything but the best in family and friends.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and with every opportunity shared her Jesus. She told every doctor, nurse and caregiver that there was nothing like knowing that Jesus had you in the palm of His hands.
She will be greatly missed by Jerry, family and friends. But she told Jerry to hold on to Jesus and he would be all right.
If she could speak to you today she would tell all of her family and friends if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior there is nothing like knowing that Jesus has you in the palm of His hands.
Be kind and sweet to your family and to all you meet, and I will see you in a Great Reunion when God calls his children home.
