Mass of Christian Burial honoring Mary Marie Hannan will be held 10 AM Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Bixby. Interment will follow in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 6:30 PM Tuesday evening at the Rivercrest Chapel and Event Center in Bixby. Mary passed away Thursday morning, June 17, 2021 at her Broken Arrow residence. She was 95.
Born August 13, 1925 in Republic, Missouri, Mary was the daughter of Olen and Lela (Sifferman) Lovett. She attended school at St. Elmo’s, a one-room schoolhouse where Mary’s aunt was the teacher. Mary graduated valedictorian with the Class of 1943 at Republic High School.
Mary met Bill Hannan, the love of her life, while working at Western Union in Haviland, Kansas. It was love at first sight and the couple married shortly thereafter in 1944.
Together, they raised beautiful daughters, Kelly, Kristi, Kayla, Karen & Ericka. Mary dedicated her entire life to raising her girls, which also included her great granddaughters Maleyah and Terrijah.
Mary was a beautiful seamstress and loved working in her yard. She had a great sense of humor, which Mary believes to be the secret to a long life. Her positive attitude kept her going through the hardships life brings. Mary was extremely thoughtful, kind, generous and giving . She will not soon be forgotten by a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
Surviving family members include her five children, Kelly Marie Beers and husband, Dwight, Kristi Anne Hannan, Kayla Sedlacek and husband, Chris, Karen Jackson & Ericka Hannan; 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; her niece, Charlyce Estes; and her sister-in-law, Virginia Clark.
