Linda Rollins Obituary

Linda Gail (Taylor) Rollins passed away March 6, 2023. She was 71 years old.

Linda was born November 30, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Sidney F. Taylor and Margie L. (Creekmore) Taylor. Born a sickly baby, Linda contracted polio, measles and rubella rheumatic fever and wasn't expected to live adulthood. She spent most of her early childhood in the hospital until around the second grade. As a young girl, Linda learned to tap, jazz, and ballet dance. She also owned a pony that she spent many hours caring for and riding. Her love of horses led to her becoming the first licensed female jockey in the 1960's, racing quarter horses. During her high school years, she worked as a dance instructor. She graduated from McLain High School in 1970. Upon high school, she attended nursing school. Linda worked as a private home health nurse and for various nursing homes.

She married Richard Clinton Scullawl in 1968 and together, welcomed the birth of daughter, Jerica Richanne. The couple eventually divorced in 1970. Linda always owned shepherd dogs, and showed Afghan hounds. Linda later married Richard Alan Hill in 1973 and was blessed with two more children, Cory Alan, and Jesika Richanne. Richard served in the military which caused the family to move around alot. Upon his discharge from service, the family made their home in Trapper Creek, Alaska. There, the family experienced bush living for four years. Linda and Richard later divorced and Linda and her children returned to Tulsa where they put down their roots.

Linda and Richard have remained great friends. When he remarried, she become friends with his wife, Maureen, whom she adored in 1988. Linda became friends with Charlie Rollins and the two married, eventually resulting in divorce over a decade later.

Since 2000 Linda worked as a security officer at Expo Square. She especially enjoyed working security during the horse races at Fair Meadows. One night after working an event, Linda noticed a little dog wandering around in the cold, which she rescued and named Miss. Pati. The two instantly became inseparable. Linda also worked at Rose Hill Funeral Home, where she took great pride in her job and felt honored with such responsibility. Although Linda led a busy life, she made time to bless others with her nursing skills. She was currently working as a home health companion for Ms. Martha Yeats.

Described as stubborn, independent, funny and smart, Dynamic Linda commanded an audience. She captured the attention of everyone in a room. Her presence will be greatly missed.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory are children, Jerica Scullawl-Gates and husband, Bucky Gates; Cory Hill and wife, Hamraz; Jesika Sand and husband, Drew Thomas; grandchildren, Taylor Dorian Scullawl, Zane Baley Scullawl, Ashlyn Nichole Gates, twins: Sam and Sophia Aqdams, Preston Kyuss Chase, William Viggo Sand, and Richard Arkin Sand; also her best friend since the 4th grade, Debbie Bono.

If you are unfortunate and experience a house fire, please remember there is nothing worth reentering for. Nothing is more valuable than your life. Sadly, Linda's family is enduring a tragic loss due to her failed attempt to save her dog, Miss Pati and cat, Annie.
