Linda Marilyn Edwards

Linda Marilyn Edwards was born October 9, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lester Swarer and Mary (Bates) Swarer. She was reared and educated in Catoosa where she graduated from Catoosa High School.

Linda married Jim Edwards in a wedding ceremony on April 23, 1967 in Tulsa, where they made their home. Linda and Jim settled in Broken Arrow, where they raised their family.

In her early working years, Linda worked for the T.L. Osborne Foundation for several years. She later became the Director of Nursery at the First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow. She held this position for many years but eventually found employment with Broken Arrow Public School. Linda worked as a teacher’s assistant with special education students. She retired in 2010.

To say Linda loved children is an understatement being that she devoted her entire life to children, not just her own.

Long time members of Clearview Baptist Church, she and Jim have been faithful member for more than 28 years. There, Linda served in the nursery.

Linda passed away July 12, 2023. She was 72.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Edwards of the home; daughter, Jennifer Edwards of Bartlesville; grandchildren, Nate, Christopher, and Lizabeth; and brother, Larry Swarer and wife, Laurie.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Edwards; brother, Randy and infant brother, Bradley.
