Kenneth Lavon Logue was born in Star City, Arkansas, on April 4, 1928 - the only child of Thomas Jefferson and Mae (Hill) Logue. In high school, Kenneth played football and basketball for the Star City Bulldogs and graduated in 1947.
Following graduation, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was assigned to RAF Burtonwood in England, where he learned to be an aircraft mechanic and participated in the Berlin Air Lift. While serving in England, he met his bride to be, Margaret Anne Grantham, over a cup of coffee.
Upon being honorably discharged, Kenneth returned home and brought Margaret with him. They married on May 28, 1950, in Star City. Once married, they moved to Tulsa, where Kenneth started school at the Spartan School of Aeronautics, where he earned his A&E and A&P licenses. Upon graduation, he began a 36-year career with American Airlines. Kenneth retired in 1988 as an inspector in the Machine Shop Overhaul and Bearing Shop.
Kenneth enjoyed tinkering with old cars and had a 1958 Edsel Bermuda Station Wagon and a 1959 Edsel Ranger Sedan that he enjoyed displaying at Edsel Club events. He loved attending car shows, air shows, and steam engine shows. Stock Car racing and other types of car racing events were high on his list for entertainment.
Kenneth was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He grew up on a farm and was a backwoods country boy at heart. He had lots of stories of him and his cousins growing up on the farm. He got his sons involved in Boy Scouts and participated in Scouting for several years as Committee Chairman. He also liked down-home cooking and attending a good rodeo. Kenneth loved aircraft and always enjoyed watching the planes fly in and out of the airport from his sunroom. He could also see the neighborhood wildlife such as birds and rabbits and loved to watch the local hawks fly around the area.
Words that describe Kenneth include a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dear man that will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
It was on Friday, August 28, 2020, that Kenneth passed from this life. He was 92.
