Jerry Duane Martin

Services to honor and celebrate the life of Jerry Martin will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 in the RiverCrest Chapel & Event Center, Bixby. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening also at RiverCrest. Jerry passed from this life on Monday, June 28, 2021. He was 64.

Born October 28, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jerry was the son of Jack D. Martin, Sr. and Reba (Simms) Martin. He was also the youngest of four siblings. Growing up in Tulsa, Jerry attended Union schools where he became a high school graduate. It was in school that he met Marcia Hamil. The two married and, over the next several years, welcomed three children: Jeremy, Cassi, and Kelli. Eventually, this marriage dissolved.

A while later, while working in Washington state, Jerry met Bridget Harper. Bridget was a bartender at an establishment that Jerry happened onto. Once he met Bridget, Jerry became a frequent guest, of that establishment, and his persistence paid off. She finally said, “Yes”! The couple married in March of 2006. Through this union, Jerry also gained two additional daughters: Brittany and Kayla.

As a career, Jerry worked pipeline jobs and he was a framing carpenter in the construction industry. When he was not at work, Jerry enjoyed being on his motorcycle! He also enjoyed managing the RV park, where he lived, and riding his tractor – which he was very protective of!

Words that describe Jerry include: a Harley enthusiast, caring, a family man, hard-working and tough. Jerry will certainly be missed by his friends and family. He is survived by: his wife, Bridget Martin; children: son, Jeremy Martin (Linda); daughter, Kelli Martin; daughter, Brittany Taylor (T.J.); daughter, Kayla McGee; two sisters: Jill Richie and Jane Dean Martin; grandchildren: Carissa Bynum, Haley Martin, Riley Martin, J.D. Martin, Alice Evans, Mary Martin, Shannon Sanford, Bryce Pipes, Christopher Lee, Sara Elliott, Lauraligh Elliott, Deserea Gilbert, Kaitlyn Gilbert, Alexis Gilbert, Lillie Coleman, and Landon Coleman. He is also survived by his loving pup, Maggie.

He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Cassi Sanford; his brother, Jack, Jr. and his parents.
