Jean "Jeanne" Collins Wheaton, née Collins, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at Prairie House on October 22, 2023. She was 86.
Born November 21, 1936, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and after living in OKC and Dallas, Texas, Jeanne's adventurous spirit led her to California; first to Eureka where she became co-host of a prime time magazine format television show, "Points of Interest". Eureka is also where Jeanne met the love of her life, Jack Wheaton, an accomplished music educator and composer. Jeanne lived in San Francisco for several semesters to continue her education in interior design before she and Jack made their home in Rancho Santa Fe, California in the mid 1980's. Jeanne moved from Rancho Santa Fe to Broken Arrow in early 2022 to be near family.
As an interior designer, Jeanne dedicated her time, energy, and talents to the Dondi Gallery in The Village of Rancho Santa Fe for several years. Jeanne was an active part of her church family, The Village Church, and spearheaded women's Bible classes. Additionally, Jeanne was a speaker for Stonecroft Ministries and in later years was a member of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church.
Together, Jeanne and Jack enjoyed a large social circle of friends and often entertained guests in their Rancho Santa Fe home - of course with music organized by Jack and delicious foods prepared by Jeanne! They also enjoyed traveling and led several trips to Israel with their church.
Jeanne was known for her magnetic personality, dynamic energy, and love of fun. She was tenderhearted, always ready to laugh and she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Jeanne is survived by: two sons J. Michael Morgan and Dirk Morgan; eight grandchildren: Erin Rose, Michele, Clay and Chase Morgan, Alexandra Meadows, Ava Zweifel, Sean and Paul Wheaton along with other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wheaton; her sons, Robin and Guy Morgan.
