Janice Ann Robinett

October 24, 1931 ~ September 1, 2020 (age 88)

Obituary

Born October 24, 1931 in Maud, Oklahoma, Janice Ann “Jan” Allred was the daughter of John and Cleo Allred. She had a younger sister, Shirley.  When Jan was six years old, the family left Oklahoma and moved to Kansas where they lived in several places: but most of their time was spent in Meade where Jan graduated from high school in 1950. It was shortly thereafter that she married Buddy Guy Robinett on June 15, 1950. Two years later their son Steven was born.

Buddy was in the Navy for 20 years so the Robinett family lived in many places both in the United States and overseas.  After retiring from the Navy, they would spend 22 years on Long Island where Buddy retired the second time from Grumman Aerospace.  In October, 1990 Jan and Buddy moved to Tulsa where their son Steven, daughter-in-law Mary, and grandsons Joshua and Justin lived.

Although Jan worked part time outside of the home for several years, her main joy in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother.  She was faithful to devote numerous hours volunteering at Southwood Baptist Church where Buddy and Jan were members since 1991. She enjoyed working in the library and nursery. Jan’s favorite hobbies were needlework and gardening.

Jan was loving, kind, understanding and easy to talk to. Justin admired her for her level headedness.  She was a giving neighbor and friend.  She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Jan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the tender age of 88.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Mary Robinett and her grandchildren, Justin and Joshua and his wife Kasye.
