Gatha Kay (Tucker) Attebery passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020, surrounded by her two daughters. She was 75.
Gatha was born on May 17, 1944, in Oklahoma City, OK to Alvin and Maxine (Hutcherson) Tucker. She married John Attebery in 1963. Though trained in cosmetology, Gatha spent most of her adult life as a mother and homemaker. Interior Decorating was her amazing gift as well as being a talented seamstress. Everyone wanted their house to look like Gatha’s! She enjoyed her membership in PEO as well as the many churches everywhere she lived. John’s career provided them the opportunity to live in several different places: Midwest City, Holdenville, Chickasha, Del City, Enid, Moore, Lawton, Edmond, Little Rock, Tulsa, St. Louis, and finally retiring in Tulsa. Gatha also volunteered in her daughter’s schools and other activities. She was always ready to serve anyone and everyone in need, including her family, extended family, and friends.
Gatha was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Maxine Tucker; brother, Jimmy Tucker, and husband, John Attebery.
Gatha is survived by her sister, Trena DeWitt of Oklahoma City; brother, David Tucker of Oklahoma City; daughter, Misty Quinn and husband Chris of Dallas; daughter April Thompson and husband Mark of Tulsa; and grandchildren Jack and Emily Quinn; Olivia and Madeline Thompson.
A Memorial Service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, February 16 at Montereau Retirement Community Chapel, 6800 South Granite, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
