Gary Lee Honeycutt

June 8, 1971 ~ November 5, 2020 (age 49)

Obituary

Born June 8,1971 Gary Lee Honeycutt was welcomed to his earthly life. Gary was born in the big pink hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma and grew up in Owasso. Growing up some of Gary’s fondest memories were when he was working for the Tulsa World at the ripe age of 11 and when he and his Grandma Moon would cruise down the back roads of Owasso and sing the song "Country Roads" together.

After graduating high school, Gary moved to Vallejo California to work for the Vallejo Times Herald. While working in Vallejo, Gary later met  future wife Trisha Noelle Tobey through mutual friends. Gary always lit up talking about the first night they met and said he knew from day one he loved Trisha and wanted a future with her. 2 years later, they married and began traveling the Midwest working for newspapers.

After traveling for the first years of marriage, and welcoming a son and daughter, Gary and Trisha decided to settle down in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma.

Gary and Trisha owned and ran two country story gas stations in his small town of Liberty Mounds and was head football coach for his son Jordan throughout his little league years of football.

Gary made a big impact to his community and is survived by wife Trisha Honeycutt, son, Jordan Honeycutt and daughter, Brandy Honeycutt.

Gary loved his family more than anything and was overjoyed to recently rekindle with some distant family he hadn’t seen since he was a young kid.

Gary found his purpose in life taking care of his family and being an entrepreneur helping people to improve their lives through the community of the jobs he provided.
