A memorial service honoring and remembering Donna M. Teague will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the RiverCrest Chapel in Bixby. Donna passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at Saint Francis Hospital in Glenpool. She was 83.
Born April 13, 1936 in Stroud, Donna was the daughter of Isaac and Martha (Johnson) Thompson. Along with her 8 siblings, she grew up in Stroud and Okfuskee areas where she worked hard in a farming family. They all got along really well. They had to, there were too many of them! Donna was truly a daddy’s girl and known to follow him everywhere.
At an early age, Donna was introduced to Virgil Teague through mutual friends in Frederick, Oklahoma. Both of their families were farming cotton together. They stayed in touch for several years as their families farmed strawberries and apples in Missouri. The couple married April 2, 1956 in Tulsa. Donna and Virgil were inseparable for over 65 years together.
Donna kept and safeguarded most everything she ever purchased. She was a big fan of garage sales, flea markets, and Goodwill stores. A wonderful mother and even more wonderful grandmother, spanking her grandchildren was simply not allowed. Donna was terrified of creepy creatures. She couldn't’t stand snakes, spiders, and mice. However, her favorite pet will always be her Pitbull, Athena.
Surviving family members include her husband, Virgil; her children: Jeffrey Teague, Joyce Wilson and her husband, Gary, Marc Teague and his wife, Kayla; her sisters: Rose, Nadine, and Dale; her brother, Dennis; thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Roger Teague in 2014; her sisters, Hazel and Peggy; and her brother, James.
