Denise Leann Doss

A funeral ceremony honoring the life of Denise L. Doss will be held 11 AM Thursday, March 16 2023 in the Rivercrest Chapel, 13329 S. Memorial Drive in Bixby. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 PM Wednesday at Bixby-South Tulsa Funeral Service, 13307 S. Memorial Drive. Denise passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 59 years old.

Born July 3rd, 1963 in Tulsa, Denise was the Daughter of Earl Wolfe and Florence (Wantland). Denise attended Salk Elementary, Byrd Junior High, and Memorial High School. She graduated with the Class of 1981. Denise completed her bachelor's degree in Sign Language from East Central University. She immediately developed a passion for sign language, after attending the Falls Creek Assembly Baptist church camp.

Denise was employed as a sign language interpreter by Tulsa Community College for 17 years. She also did an extensive amount of work with the Tulsa Speech and Hearing organization.

Denise was a loving mother to her two children, Jesse and Annette. She married Edsel "Ed" Doss in 1997. Through the years, Denise had a real passion for her interpreting services. While living in Foyil, she also enjoyed spending time in her garden.

Surviving family include her, two children, Jesse Doss and Annette Doss; her father, Earl Wolfe; mother, Florence Wantland; her twin brother, Danny Wolfe; brother Larry Wolfe, sister Sherrill Rigdon (Duane), and her brother, Charles W. Wantland.

Denise was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; stepmother, Freeda Wolfe, and her step father, Kenneth Wantland.
