David Skelton Obituary
David Lee Skelton, 75, of Bixby, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020.
Born July 12, 1945 in Alton, Illinois, he was the son of William H. and Betty J. (Lee) Skelton.
David retired from Owens-Illinois as a machinist, and was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Presidential Unit Citation while serving in Vietnam (1966-67).
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (Alesha) Skelton of Maryville, Illinois, and Jason (Jennifer) Skelton of Bixby, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Merry (Al) Trtanj of Granite City; Jane Cogan of Alton, Sally (Vic) Spagnola of Godfrey, Cindy (Ronnie) Voorhees of Alton and Peggy (Steve) Price of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Toni L. Skelton Van Dee.
Graveside services will be held at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Illinois on Friday June 11th @ 10:00am.
Celebration of life to follow at Rolling Hills golf course in Godfrey, Illinois.
