David Kent Retheford, our fun, loving, wonderful father, brother, grandfather, and uncle, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Our hearts are broken, and the only blessing is that he’s no longer in pain and now in the arms of loved ones. David was predeceased by his devoted parents, Don and Joy Retheford and younger brother, Steven. He is survived by his beloved daughters Amy, of Bixby, and Savanna (Chris), of Broken Arrow, and grandchildren Wyatt, Mason, Josie Joy, Kai David and Layla. David will also be missed by his loving big brother Mike, of Tulsa, and devoted little sisters Donna (Richard), of San Mateo, CA, and Jill, of Broken Arrow. David was adored by his nieces and nephews, Leslee, Jamie, Mary Beth, Matthew, Eric, and Alex, as well as great-nieces and -nephews. His passing is also a loss to his former wife/friend, Denise, and more friends than we can ever count.
David was born April 12, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo., and his family moved to Tulsa in 1959. He graduated from East Central High School in 1972 and was extremely proud of his service in the U.S. Air Force. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners. A natural born salesman, David worked for a variety of businesses before starting Retheford Seamless Guttering. He lived his life to its fullest, loved lake-life, hunting and fishing, and playing host at his pool. David was the life of the party, and he loved big!
A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Bixby South Tulsa Funeral Service, 13307 S. Memorial Drive. We’ll treasure the time to share stories of our beloved David. And please tell your family and friends you love them – David ALWAYS did.
