The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6-8:00 pm at RiverCrest Chapel and Event Center.

Born October 31, 1995, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Daniel Scott Crowl was the first of three sons born to Michael and Jody (Huff) Crowl. He would become the proud big brother to both Tyler, whom he called “his baby” and also to Braden.

As a young boy, Daniel became known by his family as “Booky”. Booky loved pickup trucks and at just two years old was able to spot and name all makes and models while driving down the road. He also really enjoyed watching Walker Texas Ranger and dressing up in his cowboy boots. Although the size of his boots has increased through the years, they have certainly remained a staple in his wardrobe!

Growing up in Bixby and living in the same neighborhood as family, Daniel and his brothers rode their bikes all around and spent most of their days outside. This seemed only fitting as these boys belonged to a larger family group who loved the outdoors and used it as their playground. The Crowl family spent many weekends camping and being on the river. There is no doubt that this time helped to form Daniel’s love of hunting and fishing and he used those hobbies to make countless memories while with his family and friends.

Speaking of family, Daniel was known to be a bit of a momma’s boy! In fact, he loved his “hot dates” with his mom which typically consisted of a good lunch and shopping. A lover of good food, Daniel asked his mom, Jody, for a book of her recipes. A few of his favorite meals included chicken gnocchi soup, chicken and dumplings, and asiago spinach chicken pasta (also known as lawnmower pasta).

Daniel was well-liked by everyone and was always looking to have a good time. He loved working on cars. More specifically, he enjoyed fixing them up and making them go fast! He also loved mudding, which might have gotten him in trouble a time or two! Daniel loved animals and his dog, Titus, was his best friend. He was also especially fond of turtles and his dream was to become an oceanographer.

Daniel graduated from Bixby High School in 2014. Upon graduation, he moved to Stillwater where he was attending Oklahoma State University and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau. There, he was studying wildlife conservation and aspired to become a police officer and, eventually, a federal game warden. While living in Stillwater, Daniel enjoyed working on the security team with StoneWolf Casino and had previously worked, doing the same, at Cimarron Casino.

Those who know Daniel know that he could be described as big in stature. In addition, he had a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. He was a loyal friend and would give you the shirt of his back. He was a tad ornery and lived for shenanigans. Daniel was liked by all kids and even hoped for a handful of his own.
